This is to not only ensure your safety but our surgeon’s safety as well. It is important to make sure you are okay beforehand so we don’t end up negatively affecting you. That’s why Body by Kotoske put together a walkthrough of all the required tests needed before your plastic surgery journey. Follow these steps and you should be good to go! There may be some additional tests required in some circumstances, but your Phoenix plastic surgeon should let you know if you need to take any additional tests.
For starters, you are going to need your CBC Differential “Complete Blood Count with Differential”. This test gives us a lot of information about Phoenix patients blood. It tells us whether you are anemic or not which can be very useful information when going into surgery.. This is important because if you are Body by Kotoske will closely monitor your blood and make sure you don’t start losing more than you are supposed it. It tells us about your white, and red blood cells. The count of your hemoglobin and your hematocrit levels. This is all information we absolutely must know and that is why it is so important that you get these tests done. With this information, we can make sure everything goes as planned and not have to be caught off guard by anything.
You will also need to get CMP “Comprehensive Metabolic Panel” done here in Phoenix before the plastic surgery procedure. This will let our team of professionals know about your body’s fluid balance and electrolyte levels. It will also tell us how well your kidney and liver are working to ensure they can do their job during the surgery. It also checks your glucose and albinum and total protein levels.
Possible Test for Complications For Patients
When you go in for plastic surgery at Body by Kotoske, if you are a woman you will also need to be pregnancy tested. You do this by getting an HCG test “Human Chorionic Gonatrodopin Test”. It is a hormone that is secreted when women are pregnant. This is required because you cannot do plastic surgery on a pregnant woman. It puts the baby at risk and depending on certain procedures can be extremely dangerous for the child’s life.
The last couple of test you will need is the coagulation panel and the urinalysis tests done in Phoenix before your procedure with Dr. Thomas Kotoske. The coagulation panel is a series of tests to see how well your blood clots. Included in those tests is a test for your iron levels. Urinalysis tests are done to make sure you have good kidney function. It is just like any other urine test and we want to make sure everything looks normal and is working properly. This list of tests is meant to determine if you are in good health and to see if you are a good candidate for plastic surgery.
